TRIBUTE TO MOON BIN
(January 26, 1998 - 19 April 2023)
Moon Bin was a member of ASTRO and a dear friend of Eun-Woo.
A talented singer, dancer and actor, he attended and graduate from Hanlim Multi Arts School, focusing in Practical Music.
Moonbin began his journey with Fantagio as a trainee in fifth grade, eventually transitioning to a full-fledged trainee during his middle school years. He actively took part in the company's boy group project iTeen, and he was introduced through the Fantagio iTeen Photo Test Cut. Before his official debut with Astro, Moonbin and his fellow group members starred in a web-drama titled "To Be Continued". He debuted as one of the members of ASTRO on 23 February 2016 with the EP Album 'Spring Up'.
He was also a keen lyricist and contributed to many of ASTRO's songs. He starred in K-drama's 'Boys over Flowers (2009) and 'Moment of Eighteen' (2019) and several Television and Web shows.
He passed away in April 2023, leaving one member less in ASTRO family, a void that no one else can fill. All the members were devastated at this unexpected twist of fate and went through a very painful time coming to terms with the loss. Although the members have resumed individual activities, the loss will be difficult to come to terms with.

On the 19th, Fantagio announced that the digital single 'Moon in a Dream' will be released at 6 PM that day. According to Fantagio, "Door in a Dream" featured a total of 22 artists, including Astro, VIVIZ, Monsta X's Minhyuk, Kihyun, and I.M, Seventeen's Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, DK, and Seungkwan, HELLO GLOOM, Rocky, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, SF9's Chani, Stray Kids' Bang Chan, and Billy Moonsooah.
The song's composition was especially meaningful as Astro's leader JinJin participated in the composition, while Astro members and Rocky all participated in the lyrics. The lyrics revolve around the theme of “a letter to Moonbin, who will be waiting behind the moon’s door,” delivering a deeply meaningful message from friends and fellow artists. As so many poured their genuine emotions into it, the song is expected to bring comfort and healing to fans. Furthermore, all proceeds from "Door in a Dream" will be donated to those in need.
The lyrics contain messages from Moonbin's friends and colleagues under the theme of "a letter to Moonbin who will be waiting when the door to the moon opens."
Astro members have been reminiscing about Moonbin through various music and content despite their continuous promotions. Last year, leader JinJin released the single 'Fly' (Fly, Duet with. Moonbin (ASTRO))' that he worked on with Moonbin, and members Cha Eunwoo and Yoon Sanha released a cover video of Moonbin's song for his birthday this year, following last year.

Cha Eun Woo leads release of tributary song for Moonbin for 2nd Anniversary 19 March 2025
A memorial song will be released to mark the second anniversary of the death of the late Astro's Moonbin. Friends who loved Moonbin have gathered together to offer comfort through a beautiful song.
On the 28th, Fantagio stated, "Moonbin's friends will get together in April and release a new song," and "the new song will consist of 'letters sent to Moonbin by his friends.'"
Moonbin's close friends have all turned out. It has been revealed that not only the members of Astro, but also Monsta X's I.M, Kihyun, and Minhyuk, and Seventeen's Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Dokyeom, and Seungkwan will all be participating.
Na Woong Jae, Choi Yoo Jung, Kim Do Yeon, SF9's Chani, Stray Kids' Bang Chan, Billy's Moon Su Ah, and Bibi G also lend their support. In particular, Cha Eun Woo is actively leading this project, including personally recruiting members.
Fantagio said, "We hope that this new song can be a comfort and gift to the fans who remember and love Moonbin."

Moonbin's especial love to AROHA led him to name his gorgeous and beloved cat 'ROA'. He absolutely loved cats! So what better way to remember him than to give to an animal rights charity who is making a difference in Korea? Since 2002, CARE has been successful in leading change in public opinion and awareness, revision of Korea's major animal protection laws, and carried out numerous animal rescue activities in Korea.

This was a popular question on TV and YouTube programs for a while, comparing him with other celebrities in "ideal looks" questions. A young politician born in the 1980s once humorously replied that his party leader was better looking when asked who he thought was more handsome, the party leader holding his nomination rights or Cha Eunwoo.
Because of his striking looks, Cha has been criticized for not having standout acting skills. However, in the recently aired drama 'Wonderful World', he adeptly portrayed a multi-layered character obsessed with revenge who eventually reconciles with his target, dispelling such criticism. His fresh and vibrant presence can be felt in various media programs and commercials. It seems to be a time in his life filled with sunshine.
