EARLY YEARS:​
Cha Eun-woo, born Lee Dong-min, comes from a close-knit family in South Korea. Eun-woo has occasionally spoken warmly about the influence and support of his parents during his childhood and education and the close bond he shares with his younger brother.
Fun fact: It is said that EUN-WOO'S father had a prenatal dream in which a large puddle formed in the grandmother's yard and he caught and lifted up a large 'golden carp' swimming in it.
Dong-min, spent his early childhood in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, where he attended Dingdongdaeng Kindergarten and later Yeolmae Kindergarten before starting elementary school. He later attended Neungnae Elementary School in Gunpo. During his elementary-school years, he was regarded as a bright and active student known for his academic ability, sporting interests and active participation in school activities, long before he became known to the public as Cha Eun-woo.
During his middle-school years, Dong-min attended Suri Middle School in Gunpo. He reportedly achieved excellent grades, ranking among the top students in his school, while also continuing to take part in sports and school activities. He is widely reported to have served as student council president, reflecting the leadership role he held among his peers. A particularly important event occurred during his third year of middle school, around 2012, when he attended a school festival and was approached by a talent scout from Fantagio. Although he was initially focused on his studies and had not planned a career in entertainment, the casting offer eventually led him to audition for the agency. He passed the audition and subsequently became a Fantagio trainee, marking the turning point between his ordinary school life as Lee Dong-min and the beginning of his career in the Korean entertainment industry as CHA EUN WOO.
